Privacy Policy
This is a one-man bird-boarding shop in Burlington, not a tech company. I collect almost nothing, I do not sell anything to anyone, and you can have me delete your details whenever you like. Here is the whole story in plain English.
My name is Rajan Gill and I run Lakeshore Bird Care out of one quiet boarding room in Burlington, Ontario. The only way to reach me is the booking form on this site or by email at info@lakeshorebirdcare.ca. I do not run accounts, logins, newsletters, loyalty programs, or an app. That keeps this short.
What the booking form collects
When you fill in the form on the Book a Stay page, you are typing in a handful of things so I can answer you about boarding your bird. That is your name, your email address, the type of bird, the service you want, your start and end dates, how many birds share a cage, and whatever notes or medication instructions you choose to write. That is the full list. There is no hidden field doing something else in the background.
I do not ask for your home address, your phone number, your date of birth, or any payment details on the form. There is no shopping cart and there is nothing to pay online — payment is cash or e-transfer at pickup, settled in person. If you email me directly instead of using the form, then I have whatever you chose to put in that email and nothing more.
Why I keep it, and what I do with it
I use what you send for one reason: to read your request, decide whether I can take your bird on those dates, reply to you within a business day, and then run the stay if you book. That is the entire purpose. Your notes about food and medication exist so I feed and dose your bird correctly while you are away. Nothing you type into that form is used to advertise to you, profile you, or follow you around the internet.
I do not sell your information. I do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to a marketing list. I am not in the business of data — I am in the business of feeding budgies twice a day. Your details never leave my own inbox and the form's delivery, and I have no interest in them beyond your trip.
Who else can see it
This website is hosted by a hosting provider, and the booking form sends what you submit to my email so I can read it. Those service providers (the host and the email service) handle the message in transit the way they handle every site they run; they are not given your details to use for their own purposes. Beyond that, nobody sees your booking but me. There is no staff, no call centre, no third party I forward your request to.
The one exception is the obvious one: if the law required me to hand something over, or if there were a genuine emergency involving your bird's health, I would do what was necessary. That is common sense, not a loophole.
Cookies and tracking
This is a plain set of pages. I am not running advertising trackers or building a profile on you as you read. If your browser stores anything, it is the ordinary technical bits a website needs to load and look right, not a marketing dragnet. There is nothing here for me to sell even if I wanted to, which I do not.
How long I keep it
I hang on to your booking message for as long as it is useful — through your stay, and for a little while afterward in case you write back, want to rebook, or there is a question about the trip. If we never end up doing a booking, or once an old stay is well behind us, your message is just clutter in my inbox and it gets cleared out. I am not building an archive. I keep what I need to do the job and not much else.
Having your details removed
You can ask me to delete what I have about you at any time, and I will. Email info@lakeshorebirdcare.ca from the address you contacted me with, say you want your details removed, and I will delete your message from my inbox. You can also ask me what I have on file and I will tell you — it will not take long, because it is only ever a booking form. There is no form to fill out to make this happen and no hoops to jump through. Just ask.
Children
This is a service for adults arranging bird boarding. The form is not meant for children, and I am not knowingly collecting anything from kids. If a child has sent me something through the form, let me know at the email above and I will delete it.
If this page changes
If I ever change how any of this works, I will update this page. The same rule applies here as applies to the price: the website changes first, in plain language, and there are no surprises buried in fine print. The way I run the bird side of this business — flat rate, small birds only, no frills — is the way I run the privacy side too: keep it small, keep it honest, keep it boring.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what I am holding for you, email info@lakeshorebirdcare.ca and I will answer in plain English. I serve Burlington and the surrounding neighbourhoods, and I would rather you ask than wonder.
